1.Oil, solvent and chemical resistance

Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber has extremely good oil, solvent and chemical resistance; even compared with fluorine rubber, oil and solvent resistance is also good.

After impregnation in the same medium, temperature and time have shown excellent durability, it can be said that fluorosilicone rubber is the only kind of elastomer that is resistant to non-polar medium under -68℃~232℃.

The resistance of fluorosilicone rubber to gasoline containing methanol is also relatively good, even in the gasoline / methanol mixed system, the hardness, tensile strength, volume changes of its vulcanized rubber are very small, after 500h long time impregnation test, the physical properties are almost no change.

2.Heat resistance

The high temperature decomposition of fluorosilicone rubber is the same as that of silicone rubber, namely: oxidation of side chain, main chain breakage, thermal decomposition of side chain and cause various compound reactions. Because the decomposition products also cause the main chain breakage, so the heat resistance is usually worse than silicone rubber, in the temperature of 200 ℃ has begun to oxidation aging.

But by adding a small amount of iron, titanium, rare earth oxides and other heat stabilizers can make a significant improvement, even at 250 ℃ high temperature also has sufficient heat resistance. Temperature on fluorosilicone rubber than silicone rubber, but smaller than fluorine rubber. Foreign also studied the service life of fluorosilicone rubber in 150 ℃ × 2000h, 175 ℃ × 5000h, 200 ℃ × 4000h conditions, the results are second only to methyl vinyl silicone rubber.

3.Cold resistance

Fluorosilicone rubber, like ordinary silicone rubber, has good low temperature performance. Since fluorosilicone rubber is a linear polymer composed of soft Si-O as the main chain, the low-temperature properties are better than those of fluorine rubber with C-C as the main chain. Among them, fluorosilicone rubber (LS-2370U) has better low-temperature characteristics, with brittle temperature as low as -89℃, while the general fluorine rubber is about -30℃.

4.Electrical performance, radiation resistance

The electrical properties of fluorosilicone rubber are similar to those of ordinary silicone rubber, but what is particularly valuable is that the changes in high temperature, low temperature, humidity, oil, solvent, chemicals, ozone and other harsh conditions are very small. The radiation resistance of fluorosilicone rubber is not outstanding, but the radiation aging resistance is better than methyl vinyl silicone rubber.

5.Physical and mechanical properties

Fluorosilicone rubber, like ordinary silicone rubber, the mechanical strength of vulcanized rubber (especially tear strength) is relatively low. Therefore, to improve and enhance the strength of fluorosilicone rubber is also an important research topic.

6.Other characteristics

Fluorosilicone rubber weathering aging resistance is very good, even after 5 years of exposure, still maintain a good performance.

Ozone is one of the most generated gases in the aging of elastomers, but fluorosilicone rubber through dynamic or static tests have not found the phenomenon of cracking or cracks. In addition, the mold resistance, physiological inertness, and anti-coagulation properties of fluorosilicone rubber are also very good.
